A Message from Jesse Lederman
President of the Springfield City Council & Candidate for Mayor
To Our Friends and Neighbors Across the City of Springfield:
I am a lifelong Springfield resident, a graduate of our public schools & UMass Amherst, and the President of the Springfield City Council. I did not come from a big political family, or a family with a lot of money. I ran for City Council because I saw the difference that could be made in local government.

I am proud of the work we’ve accomplished together since then, and the commitments that I have kept to the people of Springfield - bringing people together to make local government work better, standing up to polluters, holding public utilities accountable, fighting to improve housing & infrastructure, and advocating for innovative public safety solutions.
But to solve our city's greatest challenges, we must go further and do more.

With a fresh perspective, I believe we can build a local government that meets the needs of all our neighborhoods, lives up to our city’s history of innovation and progress, and prioritizes the quality of life of every resident.

That's why I am running for Mayor. I humbly ask for the opportunity to earn your vote.
