Councilor Lederman to Kickoff Re-Election Campaign May 1

April 27, 2019

At- Large Springfield City Councilor Jesse Lederman will formally kickoff his campaign for re-election at a rally with his family, friends, and supporters on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 5:30 PM to take place at Christopher’s Tavern located at 360 Cooley Street.

Lederman will be joined by guest speakers including Sheriff Nick Cocchi, Register of Deeds Cheryl Coakley Rivera, School Committeewoman LaTonia Monroe Naylor, City Councilor Melvin Edwards, and Jason Garand of Carpenters Local 336.

The speaking program is expected to begin at 6:00 PM.

“It is a great honor to serve the people of Springfield, and I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish together with the community and my colleagues on the City Council,” said Lederman, who was elected to the Council in 2017, “In the last 15 months, among many initiatives, we have passed landmark legislation to guarantee more funding for neighborhood infrastructure and quality of life projects in the future, passed legislation to ensure that developers who receive tax breaks hire local residents, established the first ever Standing Committee on Sustainability and Environment, worked collaboratively to secure state and local funding for innovative public safety initiatives, and worked to bring needed attention to nuts and bolts government issues like street lighting and being able to connect with local 911 dispatch via cell phones – but there is more to be done.”

“I look forward to an energetic campaign season and we welcome all to join us to kick it off on May 1,” said Lederman.
