Springfield City Councilors, School Committee Members to Hold Town Hall Style Meeting
At-Large Springfield City Councilor Jesse Lederman announces that he and Ward 6 City Councilor Victor Davila will co-host a Town Hall style meeting in Forest Park on January 22 at Forest Park Middle School, located at 46 Oakland Street, Springfield, MA 01108.
City Councilors in attendance will be Melvin Edwards, Justin Hurst, Tracye Whitfield, Michael Fenton, Adam Gomez, Malo Brown, Orlando Ramos, and Tim Allen. School Committee Members in attendance will be LaTonia Monroe Naylor and Chris Collins.
Doors open at 6:00 PM and the program will begin at 6:30. All residents of Springfield are invited to attend to meet their elected officials and ask questions as well as share their concerns and ideas for Springfield.
This is the sixth Town Hall style meeting that Councilor Lederman has organized since his inauguration in 2018, and he says he will continue to organize such events across Springfield during his second term.
“Town halls are a vital part of our commitment to civic engagement, government transparency, and accountability,” said Councilor Lederman “Through our previous events we have engaged hundreds of residents and addressed many neighborhood concerns. I look forward to kicking off 2020 in that same spirit, and am grateful to my colleagues for their commitment and partnership in this effort.”
Newly elected Ward 6 City Councilor Victor Davila expressed support for holding the first Town Hall of 2020 in his district saying:
“Town halls are an important tool to get to know residents and the issues that are important to them,” said Councilor Davila.
